Antenna Builders / Design Page
Hello fellow antenna builders! Well for years I would just run out with wire and a calculator and start building. At times I still do this but I was wondering if I could simplify things a bit. I deal with Data all day long and so why not make something using something everyone has for the most part (Some form of an excel spread sheet) that can be updated as needed and will generally work Okay for my needs.
That’s where this antenna cut sheet came from; it will get you CLOSE but not exactly. You can generally count on it coming out a little long which is better for the most part. Then tune it to your needs on the bands. A few of my neighbors are dedicated 11 meter ops so I included it as well. The dimensions came from ARRL Handbooks and some modeling from EZnec. Everything is based on 18 AWG Stranded Copper wire, if you use something else like tubing or smaller gauge wire the dimensions will most likely change some. Don’t forget to make it a little long for ease of adjustment. . Finally all dimensions are in Feet (Remember one inch = 0.0833 foot)
I will continue to add antenna projects as I go this year and hopefully it will be of help to you in your work as well. Keep an eye on this section for the newest additions conning out this year.
