HQRP was in Magnolia and W5MSQ was on the air again!
December 2nd and 3rd Friday and Saturday evening till dawn

Well the HQRP team came out this year and made the event a real success again. Things were slow for me this year and I was not sure who all would come out. Warren WQ1C was forced to drop out due to a shift in his work schedule. My work schedule is crazy right now but I was hopeful.
The first problem was getting the antenna up at site, ugh not easy! For some reason I could not get the slingshot to send the weight high enough, not sure why. Maybe I need to get new bands for it. Thanks to my beautiful patient wife for helping me out, she came brought dinner out and helped where she could. On the last shot, almost out of line and very discouraged Jon and his Wife came to the park. The last shot was a good one and with help from everyone we got the dipole antenna up. Shortly later we were on the air for a while. I was really tired so we had a chat session and listened around the band a while. After a short while we got on the air and made a few brief contacts. Jon and J-Mag had to depart early and just as they were getting ready to depart Gabriel from my work place dropped by to say hello. Gabriel stayed for a while and visited till late when Ed N5EM made it to site. At that point Ed and I ran the station till Dawn. We did Okay <script >
